It is not long now till a Team from ELJGL visits Pinehurst North Carolina USA for 9 days of golf on fabulous courses. Please don't be worried by the attached photo of a snowbound Pinehurst No. 2, taken 18th Jan! Dave Warren and Ric Foulner are accompanying Lewis Irvine, Lewis Hannah, Jack McDonald, Jack Noon, James Morgan, Ross Lunn, Josh Grahame, Harry Rogan, William Ladbrooke, and Liam Currid on the trip. The group leaves on 9th Feb 2018 and returns on the 20th. They will play rounds on Mid Pines, Pine Needles, and on several of the Pinehurst Resort courses, including the world ranked Pinehurst No. 2 - venue of several US Opens. They will also have a match against a team from a local school. The Players’ costs are being subsidised by kind donations from Dan van Horn (the founder of US Kids Golf,) and East Lothian Council, and we are also very grateful that the costs of golf bags and clothing, all with logos, are being met by Russell Shepherd of “Hotdocs,” “Scotland’s Golf Coast,” North Berwick Professional Martyn Huish, and by Jim Wilson of “Cablecom.” Thanks - this couldn't have happened without you! The Players were selected from those Boys who played well in League Competitions and/or finished high up in the Orders of Merit in 2017. Preference was given to older Boys as younger Players will have other chances to go on similar trips in future. A trip is also being planned for a Team of Girls who play in our League. So if you want to be considered for future trips of this type, then please play for your Club Teams in the 2018 League and in other League events, all of which can be seen in our fixtures list under “Events.”
