David Rudd, a recent ELJGL Junior, from Longniddry, played in the 36 hole Northern Open this week at Spey Valley, against some well known Scottish PGA Professionals. David scored a great 4-under par in the first round to be one shot off the lead, but the second round was abandoned due to flooded greens. David was the joint leading amateur! Aidan Lawson won the British Wee Wonders Championship 11-12 age group with 2 fantastic rounds of 73 and 71 at Gullane GC. Alexander Yuill continued his good run of form by finishing 2nd. Well done Boys! In the Mens British Amateur Championship at Royal Birkdale, former ELJGL Junior Connor Wilson was T18 with a 73 (CSS 77), and joint 2nd top Scot in the qualifying round, and made it into the last 64 matchplay stage. Scores here. He won there at the 18th in Round 1, but sadly lost 1 down in the 2nd Round. Connor was one of only 2 Scots to reach that stage, where both Scots sadly lost. Scores here.
