Well done to the EL Girls Team of 4, with their Players each benefitting from 2 extra CHA strokes, they pulled off a great win with a record number of points – 167, just beating League leaders Craigielaw into 2nd place by 2 points. Craigielaw extended their lead in the League. The Match Day Team results are included below. There were notable individual performances including the highest score all year of 50 points by Craigielaw’s Reserve, 12 year old Daryl Yuill – with a gross 79 less 25 = 54. Joseph Cookson went out in 31 strokes but although he had a 5 at the last hole, he finished with an excellent 67 gross. Abby Nisbet had an excellent 72 gross. The CSSs were -1 which means to play to their handicaps, Boys needed 40 points and Girls needed 38 points. Please remember that Girl’s handicaps/scores (for the MD Competition) were inflated by 2 strokes/points. The excellent weather contributed to the low scoring. We had 60 Players competing. Our thanks are due to our hosts at Kilspindie, to our Starters Margaret Clark and John Anderson, and to Chris Stirling, Stuart Johnston, Ric Foulner, Jenni Ray for help with Registration and Scoring. The ELLCGA combined with the League in order to host their Girls’ Summer Meeting simultaneously. Later, you can check the website article in the “News’ column about MD8 for your OOM positions and see if you can get into the “Winners Circle” over the last 3 Match Days. Lucy Morrison wins the Augusta Ball Marker for writing the neatest scorecard!
