Dear Players, Parents and Convenors, this message was sent by email earlier today. If you did not receive it, let me know. We have, reluctantly, made the decision, due to the weather forecast being similar to last weekend, i.e. awful, to cancel the event at the West Links on Sunday the 5th April. It is very sad that our Juniors are missing the opportunity to play one of Scotlands finest courses. It is not planned to rearrange the fixture in 2026, but next years fixture at the West Links is scheduled for Sunday the 4th April which date does not clash with the Easter weekend!
Our Orders of Merit will now run on the basis of the best 5 placings out of the remaining 8 MDs.
So we have given early notice to the Host Club of the cancellation and have given notice by email to all involved NOT to travel to this event on Sunday, which will now give parents time to consider other activities for their families over the holiday weekend. And the early notice will let the West Links members have access to the tee times, if any of them are brave enough to venture out!
The next event, MD4, is at Craigielaw on Sunday the 26th April between 1200 and 1630. Entries to date number 56 and entries will close at 6 pm on the 20th April. Please get your entries in asap!
Our annual League Championships are going to be held at Haddington on Sunday June the 29th. In view of the increased number of Players now registered with the League – now standing at 217, there may be a surplus of Players wishing to play in that event. There may have to be a ballot of Players by handicap indexes, in the various age groups. So please enter this event if you wish to play. Registration on Golf Genius is now OPEN! In the event of excessive numbers of entries, we may look at hosting the U12s Boys, and the Girls Championships, at other MD venues.
