In the 4 Match Days held to date (MD1 was postponed) a 4th different Team, Kilspindie, emerged on top with the highest points total yet seen – 171 points amassed from their 4 top scorers. Cameron Mukherjee (in featured photo) had 45 points to lead the way, with their next 3 Players also scoring in the 40s. Gullane Derby in 2nd place, go to the top of the League after scoring 168 points, with Mackenzie Harper scoring 45 of those points. In third place were West Links with 4 Players all scoring in the 40s for 165 points. Connor Wilson, of the Home Club Dunbar and recent winner of the SGF event at Cardrona, scored a tremendous 68 scratch against a CSS of 71. The final prizewinner was Harry Bent of The Glen with 45 points. The ELLCGA held their Girls Summer meeting in tandem with MD5 and a photo is attached. Cera Gemmell, far left, was the winner with 41 points. The OOMs have been updated and can be see here. Sam Westwood has a good lead in the Handicap and Lewis Hannah and James Morgan are again fighting for the Scratch prize this year. A Competition Handicap Allowance of 2 strokes was added to the handicaps of Boys who played off the White tees, and to the Girls playing off the Red tees, as some younger Boys played off the Yellow Tees. This equalising CHA counts for competition results, but not for any handicap alterations. Due to excellent scoring the CSSs went down 1 stroke. For the 48 Boys on the White Tees, (Par 71, SSS 72) the CSS was 71 = 36 points. For the 3 Boys on the Yellow Tees, (Par 71, SSS 70) the CSS was 69 = 38 points. For the 5 Girls (Par 72, SSS 73) the CSS was 72 = 36 points. East Lothian Ladies incorporated their ELLCGA Girls’ Summer Meeting in this Match Day so some of the 5 Girls played for their Teams in the League, whilst also competing individually for the Girls’ Trophies. The Girls Stableford points totals for their Trophies in their Summer Meeting did NOT include the 2 CHA strokes. Cera Gemmell of West Links Juniors won the Girls event with 41 points, from joint runners up Ala Gorka (better back 9) of Royal Musselburgh and Annie Wilson of Dunbar/Castle Park, both on 30 points. Scores have been finalised and results sent to Players’ Home Clubs. The League would like to thank all at Dunbar GC for being excellent hosts to our 56 Players, and presenting their course in top condition. The League Secretary would also like to thank the many Junior Convenors who assisted with the organisation on the day. The fixture coincided with a few Club Championship events, so several Players were unavailable. We will be looking for a change of this fixture date in 2019.
