Portlethen had not qualified. If they had qualified, it remains ridiculous to play such an event on their home course in the SF format that you have. (A parent.)
(Editors note – this comment received some support from a Convenor, about Portlethen not having qualified as winners of their League, and then having home advantage. An email is being sent to all participants in 2017 and 2018 to survey if they think it is reasonable to invite the host team to play. This was in the rules for 2018 before the event. See this website. I’ll circulate all with the result of the survey.)
