Golf Genius results here which used scoring in relation to par. Due to an error on the part of the Secretary, the calculation of a Girl’s score relative to the Girls’ par was incorrect and the winning Team in the Handicap Team should have been the West Links Team. This change has been notified to the Teams concerned, and additional prizes will be given to the Players in the West Links Team.
The CSS at Longniddry for Boys was 71 and for Girls it was 74. Home Clubs have been updated with away scores from this event. Full results appear below. Congratulations to Gullane for winning the Trophy for the best scratch Team score of 221, and to West Links in 2nd place. The handicap prize was won by Longniddry headed by Scott Porteous’ score of 65. But the best net score was a superb 63 (72-9) There were two other scratch scores of 72 by Fergus Brown and Andrew Hendry and they each receive a prize voucher. Thanks are due to Longniddry for hosting the event, and to all the Players and Parents for complying with Covid requirements, and to those who successfully trialled score inputting on the Golf Genius App. Let me have feedback on this please. Thanks are also due to Convenor David Canavan, and to Covid Officer Susan Canavan, and to Longniddry members David Rudd and Neil Canavan for their help. Shona Paton, as usual, was present to help all day. In line with Covid requirements, there was no formal prize giving and absent winners on the list below should send an email to Dave Warren to request delivery, collection, or local drop off at a Pro Shop or Clubhouse etc.
We look forward, Covid permitting, to the last event of the season, the U15/U13/U11 Boys and the Girls Championships at Gullane 3 on Sunday the 18th October. There’s only 4 entrants for the Girls to date so at present all are guaranteed a prize! You can still enter these through Golf Genius. The final fun event of the season will be a Texas Scramble at Royal Musselburgh on Thursday the 22nd October. Check the website for details of this soon.
