In the Scottish Junior Tour being played at Kings Acre on 21/22 July, Cammie Gallagher tied on 134 in the U18s section with a 66 and a 68, but lost on the better 2nd round. His rounds included 11 birdies and a hole-in-one! Liam Currid was 7th. Four EL Girls were well placed. See scores for Boys and Girls here. A Team including Captain Cammie, Aaron Hall and Connor Wilson won the Blairgowrie US Junior Invitational. See report and photo here. Connor Wilson from Castle Park has won the Scottish Boys Championships at Moray G.C. in Lossiemouth. Hannah Darling of Broomieknowe won the Girls Championship at the same venue. Note – Hannah was 6 under par in the final! 16 Boys and Girls from our League Teams played in the Scottish Boys and Girls Championships 3 Boys and 2 Girls made it through to the Matchplay stages. Sadly, Aaron Hall and Connor Wilson were opponents on Wed p.m. and Connor won by 1 hole to reach the last 16. Boys scoring here. Carys Irvine made it through to the Matchplay stages but was defeated early. Grace Crawford (age 11) reached the last 8 but lost there. Girls scoring here. The ESGGA Championships took place at Royal Musselburgh where Grace won the Scratch Trophy in the Qualifying then in the final of the Matchplay, Grace defeated Carys. In the Scottish Boys U16s Open Championship at Fortrose and Rosemarkie we had 5 Boys from EL Teams playing, but only Joseph Cookson made the cut 23 with a pair of 72s and finished 31st. Grant Forrest, a former EL Junior and now on the Challenge Tour, played well at The Renaissance Club to grab one of the 3 spots available for the Open Championship at Carnoustie. Well done Grant!
