Pinehurst trip selection policy

As of Feb 2026, 106 Juniors from Golf Clubs in East Lothian have made the trip to Pinehurst with the ELJGL. We hope these trips will continue as we have made many friends in Pinehurst, the “Home” of US Golf. Each ELJGL Player can only take part on one such trip. Players will invited based on the total number of appearances they have amassed in the League’s events since joining, on their performances in – the ELJGL Championships, the League’s Scratch and Net Orders of Merit, in National and County events, and consideration will also be based on their current handicaps. Handicaps will usually have be in single figures for Boys, and in mid-teens figures for Girls, to justify an invitation. Selection of Players will be decided by the Joint Secretaries with prior reference to other Committee Members and to the Junior Convenor of each Candidate’s Club.
